Specialising in commercial non-fiction, I work on all genres, including biography/memoir, history, nature, science, humour, TV tie-ins, ‘big ideas’, illustrated/gift and puzzle books. I like to take on a mix of big projects where I work on a book from start to finish, and smaller copyediting/proofreading jobs that fit round the others, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you think I can help with your proposal.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Handling the overall publication of the book from raw manuscript to finished product, working closely with both the author and the publisher throughout. Includes editing text, managing freelancers, guiding the design process, handling picture research and dealing with the legal read (where necessary).

STRUCTURAL EDITING AND WRITING
Reshaping, reordering, rewriting; suggesting areas that need expanding; being clear-sighted about the sections that need cutting back.

COPYEDITING AND PROOFREADING
Eagle-eyed copyediting and proofreading services, always sensitive to the author’s voice and returned on time.

IP CONSULTANCY/PITCH DEVELOPMENT
Coming up with ideas for books or developing existing ideas; writing and refining proposals; researching the competition; finding potential authors for IP projects.
